Start planning your trip today!

At The Nasio Trust, volunteers support ongoing community-led projects designed and led by local teams in Musanda, Kenya.

So, when you volunteer with Nasio, you join ongoing community programmes that are already in motion. You become part of a shared learning experience grounded in respect, cultural exchange, knowledge sharing, and learning alongside our Kenyan staff and community, all while contributing to meaningful, community-led change.

With focused efforts in education, health, and sustainable livelihoods, we’re working to uplift lives together.

Who We Are & What We Do

The Nasio Trust is a UK-registered charity and Kenyan NGO working alongside communities in Kakamega County, western Kenya. Our mission is simple: to support locally led change that breaks the cycle of poverty through access to education, healthcare, and sustainable livelihoods.

Rooted in community partnerships, our programmes provide essential support including education, medical care, nutritious meals, and psychosocial support. We also strengthen long-term resilience by investing in local skills and income-generating opportunities that help individuals and families build brighter futures.

Tailored To Maximise Your Contribution

Whether you’re travelling solo or as part of a group, our volunteer experiences are flexible and shaped around your skills, interests, and values. Each placement is designed in collaboration with our local team to ensure your contribution supports ongoing, community-led work in meaningful ways.

You’ll take part in projects that reflect your passions while connecting with people and initiatives that are creating real, lasting change.

Our volunteer trips focus on four key areas:

  • Education: Support local teachers and learning environments that help children stay in school and achieve their potential.
  • Health: Work alongside our medical team to expand access to healthcare and strengthen community health initiatives.
  • Community Development: Join efforts that promote resilience, wellbeing, and opportunities within the community.
  • General Volunteering: Experience a mix of activities across our programmes – ideal if you want a well-rounded insight into our work.

Each trip is immersive, hands-on, and genuinely rewarding. We recommend a 10-day stay, but shorter or longer options are available to suit your schedule.
