Example Itinerary

  • Morning: Orientation session with an overview of our projects and introductions to the Kenyan team.
  • Afternoon: Join our social work team on a home visit. Meet families we support, hear their stories, assess needs, and even help prepare a meal together.
  • Morning: Help prepare breakfast, then assist teachers with lessons, reading, and playful classroom activities.
  • Afternoon: Serve lunch, play outdoor games, and help teachers prepare resources.
  • Later: Attend an adult education class to see how lifelong learning empowers parents and guardians.

Spend the day building a safe home for a vulnerable family. From framing to traditional mudding, you’ll work side by side with

Every Friday, young mothers gather for support and skills training. Join sessions on positive parenting, child health, and community savings groups (“table banking”) that help women build brighter futures.

  • Morning: Take part in jigger smearing, plastering mud huts with a natural mix to prevent painful jigger infestations.
  • Evening: Walk to Bukakha Rock and enjoy the breathtaking Kenyan sunset with fellow volunteers.
  • Morning: Serve breakfast at St Irene’s, then walk with the children to attend a local church service.
  • Afternoon: Explore the vibrant Mumias Market, immersing yourself in local culture.
  • Morning: Work on our community farm, then prepare spirulina porridge at the Porridge Kitchen, feeding and supporting malnourished babies.
  • Afternoon: Take part in a peer education session on sexual health and empowerment, then join the Greenblades youth football team for a lively match.
