Example Itinerary

  • Morning: Begin your journey with an orientation session, meet the Kenyan team and gain an overview of our projects.
  • Afternoon: Join our social work team on a home visit. Meet a family we support, hear their story, and even help prepare a meal. A powerful introduction to life in our community.
  • Morning: Help prepare breakfast, then step into the classroom to assist teachers with lessons, reading, and playful learning.
  • Afternoon: Serve lunch, lead outdoor games, and help teachers prepare resources.
  • Later: Attend an adult education class, seeing how lifelong learning empowers parents and guardians.

Take part in building a safe, simple home for a vulnerable family. From assembling the frame to traditional “mudding,” you’ll work side by side with local builders. By evening, you’ll see a new home standing, a life-changing transformation.

  • Morning: Visit Musanda Primary School and host a Q&A session with the children.
  • Afternoon: Visit the Deaf School, where children with disabilities receive inclusive education and tailored support.
  • Morning: Join our outreach team for jigger smearing, sealing hut floors and walls to prevent parasite infestations.
  • Evening: Walk to Bukakha Rock and enjoy a beautiful Kenyan sunset.
  • Morning: Serve breakfast at St Irene’s, then walk with the children to attend a local church service.
  • Afternoon: Discover the vibrant sights and sounds of Mumias Market, a hub of local culture and daily life.
  • Morning: Work on our community farm, then prepare nutritious porridge with spirulina at the Porridge Kitchen, supporting malnourished babies with feeding and health checks.
  • Afternoon: Join a peer education session on sexual health and empowerment, followed by a lively football match with the Greenblades youth team.

Spend a day at Noah’s Ark School: serve breakfast, assist with classroom learning, play games with the children, and support teachers with resource preparation.

Return to St Irene’s School for a full teaching experience. Lead a lesson in the morning, and in the afternoon take charge of educational play sessions, putting your skills directly into action.

  • Morning: Visit the Spirulina Farm to see how this superfood is grown and processed to fight malnutrition.
  • Afternoon: Take part in the house handover ceremony for the family you helped build a home for, a moving and unforgettable end to your trip.
